About Delaney
I've worked with children on several occasions. I worked as a counselor in training at the YMCA, where I cared for younger campers and learned essential leadership skills. I began babysitting in 2017 and have continued ever since, learning how to connect and communicate with the children. I volunteered at a senior center in my neighborhood, where I organized and promoted community events, designed promotional materials to raise money, and forged relationships with the seniors.
Throughout high school, I worked as Sports Editor and Photo Editor. In these positions, I mentored younger students and taught lessons about design, photography, and more.
I graduated high school with a cumulative GPA of 3.72. Due to my high school academic achievements and written applications, I received a significant merit scholarship from Chapman University. My college GPA is 3.94, and I received a 98% in college-level calculus. Although I will soon be entering the second semester of my first year of college, I have achieved sophomore status by taking additional credits during summer breaks.
I love tutoring young kids because I remember how much my childhood tutors helped and influenced me. I understand that standardized teaching in schools can make learning challenging, as different students learn in different ways. I hope to create lesson plans that are engaging and personalized and help them develop skills that they can use throughout their schooling.
Having tutored before, I know how rewarding it is to see a student learn and grow. It's a truly remarkable experience watching young kids become more confident and enthusiastic students.
I have continually excelled in math classes throughout high school and college, having recently received an A in college-level calculus. I have nearly a decade of essay-writing experience.

I ask the student questions to gain insight into how they learn best to create lesson plans that cater to their learning styles. I often check with the student to see what they're struggling with and what's working for them. After receiving that feedback, I'll adjust my lesson plan to adhere to their learning habits more fully.
