About Rai

Psychology has been my passion since I was a young teenager, and I have dedicated my life to better understanding psychological theory and pathology. I hope to help influence the next generation of those seeking to excel in this field. That being said, I understand that some concepts and teachings can be complicated or difficult to understand. I am versed in breaking down complex ideas as well as providing students with the proper study tools that they will need to succeed.

Each Student is an individual to me, and would be assessed based on their needs, wants, and goals for their courses. I will create lesson-plans and methods of study based on each individual's styles of learning, as well as provide regular feedback. I am open to listening to my student for better methods of teaching throughout the process in order to make the sessions as enriching as possible.

I will preface that the only areas I do not feel comfortable in tutoring are Psychological Statistics, Psychological Research Methods, and certain areas of Physiological Psychology. Specializations would include: Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Personality Psychology, Disaster Psychology, Psychological Theory, Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Family Systems/Violence, and Crisis Intervention.

I am a Graduate Level Student in Clincial Mental Health Counseling Program at Long Island University. I graduated with a 3.8 GPA from SUNY New Paltz with a B/A in Psychology and a minor in Disaster Mental Health Studies. I have a membership with the Psy Chi New Paltz Chapter, and was awarded Departmental Honors and the Student of Excellence Award in the graduating class of 2019. I often developed study tools and group tutoring sessions to help assist fellow students throughout my Undergraduate Studies, and currently assist fellow graduate students in Psychopathology and Counseling courses. I have received a 4.0 during my first year in graduate courses.
