One of the most commonly asked question I get is:

"Will an online lesson be as good of an experience compared to having in person/live lessons?"

And my answer is YES!

With my online set up you will NOT be missing out on in person lessons. In fact I think online lessons has an advantage over live lessons because the student has a clear visual of their body movements at all times which would be a huge benefit like in situations where you can easily do side by side comparisons with your teacher. It would also be highly beneficial in correcting bad posture.

Hello! My name is Rubina. I have been playing the piano since I was 3 years old and the violin since I was 8. I have taught students ages 3-80. It is never too late to start learning to play the piano/violin!

I don't only teach classical. With piano especially I like to explore classical, popular, jazz and many more styles!

Every lesson is customizable. Learn to play your favorite pop/Disney/holiday/tv film songs! Whether it is to prepare for school orchestra auditions, learn to play Happy Birthday/holiday music for your family and friends, for fun, or all of the above, every lesson is customized for you!

Piano - Beginner to Advanced Intermediate Level.

Violin & Viola - All levels.

Rubina Bak holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the New England Conservatory, a Master of Music from Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrechts Conservatorium (Netherlands) , and a Master of Musical Arts from Yale School of Music in Viola Performance. She is very passionate about helping students take the first step in starting their musical journey. She has been teaching violin and viola privately and in school classrooms for 14 years and piano privately for 10 years. She was awarded Yale School of Music, The Malcolm L. Mitchell and Donald M. Roberts Class of 1957 Prize, which is given to an outstanding graduating teaching artist in the Music in Schools Initiative. She currently lives in West Haven, CT with her husband, who is also a violist, and her 2 cats Walton and Bartok. In her spare time she loves to cook Korean food, garden, and swim at the beach.

About the lesson

Piano lessons offered by Rubina are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in West Haven. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
