About Matija
Mattia's Piano School, based in Astoria, NY, provides in-home piano lessons for children and adults across New York City and Long Island. Lessons take place exclusively at students’ residences in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and nearby areas. Instruction supports all skill levels and includes classical, jazz, pop, movie music, blues, and composition.
Founded by pianist and educator Matija Blagojević, the school works with a curated team of instructors educated at institutions such as The Juilliard School, Graz University of Music, the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and the University of Arts in Belgrade. A free consultation and teacher-matching process help pair each student with an appropriate instructor.
Sessions are available in 30- and 45-minute formats, priced at $49 and $69, respectively. There are no signup fees or contracts, with pay-as-you-go weekly billing via automatic payments. Scheduling is flexible, and the make-up policy allows up to two make-up lessons per month, based on teacher availability.
The school’s methodology emphasizes engaging instruction while building solid technique and musical foundations. Students receive a personalized lesson plan, regular feedback, and progress tracking, whether starting from scratch or preparing for auditions and exams—all in the convenience of their home.
