About Sophia
Cornell-trained private piano teacher. Experience teaching grade-school to college-level students in classical piano practice and music theory. Carnegie Hall debut in 2014. Audition-based Instrumental Music Conservatory Member (2011-2014).
I tailor my teaching strategies to each individual student as I learn about their unique strengths and weaknesses. I feel satisfaction while witnessing the musical maturation of the players throughout the course of working through a piece and tackling challenges together; one student came in not being able to read sheet music and by the end of our lessons, he could confidently play written-out chords that contained accidentals.
I graduated with a minor in music at Cornell University. I taught students and served on the executive board of the Cornell Piano Society.
