About Britney
My name is Britney, I LOVE teaching piano. I’m great with kids (I’m just a “big kid” myself ^_^), and I’m always thinking of ways to make learning piano fun and exciting. I’ve been teaching beginner students of all ages for over 5 years, and I am equipped with a real life grand piano. :)
This is what parents are saying about me:
“Brittany has been wonderful with our 9 year son ever since we started piano lessons with her (Nov 2017). He had started without much of an interest in lessons but due to her soft yet persistent teaching methods he is in love with his piano lessons and practices without Direction. “
“My very active 6-year-old can also be shy and easily intimidated. I didn’t know what effect that would have on learning an instrument. Britney has such a calm demeanor and encouraging personality that he readily participates in lessons and often talks about how much he enjoys piano.”
I travel a lot. So we will often take breaks from lessons for a 4-6 weeks in the summer and winter, and a few other small trips here and there.
I taught at a music school in Houston for two years, and I’ve been teaching in Holland for two years.

I think one thing I do very well is keeping my lessons dynamic and flexible. I see each student as a unique individual, with different interests, strengths, and learning styles.
Some students thrive in a world of sight reading and classical music, while for other students, improv and playing with chords is better suited for them! And sometimes this changes over time.
When I meet a new student, I listen carefully to what they want out of piano lessons, and tailor their experience to match their needs.
