About Scott

I am a working artist with over 30 years in the business of exhibiting, selling art as well as managing galleries & teaching art

I love art & enjoy seeing my students achieve goals & success

I am primarily a working artist. As such I am often approached by people interested in art lessons for both personal development & in classroom settings with multiple students

Education:

Studied Painting in Rome Italy

Studied film making, photography & film history at Tyler school of art

Certified Underwater photography & video instructor & taught at Utila Dive Center Honduras

Experience:

Ran art galleries in Philadelphia

Worked & exhibited with PMoC, Reading Museum of Fine Art & Renaissance 2000 International Artist Cooperative

Taught pastel & painting at Reading Museum of Fine Art

Exhibited & sold work in New York, Paris, London, Tokyo & Athens

About the lesson

As a structural artist that has worked on both personal exhibits and large projects including films, group exhibits and installation / live performance work I have learned that an approach that examines the student's foundation skills then builds by reinforcing positive skills and replacing ingrained habits is the best way to achieve success.

I have worked with a variety of students ranging from novices, children, class sized groups as well as professional artists looking to expand their technical skills & commercial opportunities

Preparation is the key to success. Time spent developing both the studio space and creative processes mean the difference between a successful piece and mediocre results

Teaching underwater photography & film to divers in Indonesia & Honduras has been a wonderful way to open my students minds & palettes to new ways of seeing composition in a world where geometry & color are fluid!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your long and short term goals? Are you willing to commit the time & effort to develop the techniques & foundations necessary to achieve your goals?
