George & Stephanie is a respected tutor in our community. He is highly recommended for his commitment and the quality of his lessons. An excellent choice to progress with confidence.
About George & Stephanie
We offer Traditional Okinawan karate. Our system is based on personal growth and self-defense. In 2003 we started teaching our style of karate at several community centers through the Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department. We grew really fast and became one of the most successful programs in Raleigh. Our program is special because we take the time to learn each student and help them grow based on their needs. We are not a tournament school and our curriculum is tough but very rewarding.
As a karate student, I excelled really fast and found other students frequently came to me for answers. I was then asked by my instructor to help teach and it really felt good to help others.
All black belts are certified by The World Matsubayashi-Ryu Karate-Do association an international organization with hundreds of karate schools around the world.

Our first goal is to understand the student's expectation. Then we give them a tour of the facility and explain to them what to expect from class.
Our experience has been with students as young as 3 and 63.
First I would say understand what you want from karate. Are you looking for a fun activity, want additional exercise or you want to learn self-defense. The next thing you should do is find schools in your area and stop by, talk to the students and instructors.
Every year we put on a demonstration for a local convention and we were very proud of our students for the routine the created.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It is very helpful if you know what you want from the program. It is not important you know all the details, however it can really help us design the right program for you.

Training under George and Stephanie is a true honor. They create an atmosphere that is the perfect balance of warmth and challenge. They train you to be your best self understanding honor, discipline and humility, while making sure to maintain a sense of fun, health and community. Their vast knowledge base and long years of experience were invaluable to tap into. I learned so much from them and I’m so thankful for their friendship and tutelage.
I highly recommend this school to any parent or adult who wants a superior program for his/her child or for one’s own martial arts training. George and Stephanie are great examples of what a martial artist and teacher can become if they truly love their students and are selflessly dedicated to their craft.
