About Jennifer

My coaching stands out because I take an interdisciplinary approach to movment and fitness. Rather than teaching you how to fit into a system, I give you doors into multiple tools that you can adapt to your own needs.
I love the process of discovery and exploration in the body. It is a total joy to share that process with others, and to give people tools to befriend their bodies and find comfort, joy and vitality. That does not mean we always feel wonderful, but it means we create a baseline of safety and kindness and trust with ourselves so that being in our physical bodies is not a burden but a blessing. I enjoy helping find their way back to that dynamic, and truly cultivating gratitude for this life in these bodies.
I have spent most of my adult life exploring the fields of human movement, through fitness, dance, yoga, biomechanics, massage, and contact. I've earned national certifications as a personal trainer, yoga teacher and yoga therapy, pilates instructor, and medical exercise specialist.
I will always be a student as well as a teacher and coach.
The human body and movement is endlessly fascinating to me. I enjoy helping people befriend their bodies, make new discoveries, and create better health and well being.

We typically will meet for a consultation first at my studio, Evolution. We discuss current health and health history, fitness and wellness goals, scheduling and game plan if it feels like right fit. Then we set up a fitness assessment if that is appropriate and use that information to begin training. If a client is more focused on yoga therapy then we will not do the same type of assessment but possibly look at posture, range of motion and breathing. Then we begin some introductory workouts or yoga sessions with homework given to build upon over time.
