About Maria
I’ve had a pretty varied life — Farmer, Marketing Analyst, PR specialist, Jewelry Designer, and Fitness and Health Instructor.
But my biggest accomplishment has been my own fitness and health journey.
It was hard work reclaiming control of my health and my life. So, I know whatever journey you’re on, I can support you and I can encourage you. I’ll push you and I’ll help drive you forward.
You’ll reach new heights that you probably didn’t even know existed.
Consistency is key for me. I make it a point to get to know each of my clients and to keep a steady eye on their progression, ensuring each one is offered the opportunity to grow outside of their comfort zone.
Guilty Pleasure: french fries
I started teaching a few years ago when several friends started asking me for advice and help on their fitness journey. I realized I should pursue my passion for health and helping others.
I have several ceritifications in the health and fitness industry. I have a personal trainer certification from ASFA, Small Fitness and Bootcamp Instructor certification from ASFA, Group Fitness Instructor AFAA, Running Prevention Coach ACE, CPR/AED/First Aid, Diet and Weighloss Certification.

During the first meeting I do an assessment on health, physical acitity, mobility and flexibility. From there depending on the client's goals I set a personalized training plan.
I have worked with obese and overwight clients, young athletes training for a particular sport, clients with injuries (back, knees, and cancer patients), and clients that are fit but want to get toned and build a regular exercise plan.
My advice is that you should feel comfortable with your teacher. There should be some kind of connection and rapport.
I consider myself a runner but never ran competitively until recently. During my first run I enjoyed it so much that I have registered and trained for several more.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The student should ask themselves to be true about their goals and "why" they want to reach that goal.
