About Darrell

I love what I do! Helping people achieve their fitness or competitive goals is my passion.

Working with children, or adults I have assisted people with running marathons, lifting, weight loss goals and self-defense training.

Having been certified by the American Council on Exercise and trained by the East Coast School Of Combined Martial Arts.

My nature is to teach and help others. My martial arts instructor would let me work with the younger student and I enjoyed watching them grow.

My Martial Arts Training with the East Coast School of Combined Martial Arts has provided me knowledge of self-defense, studying Karate for over 10 years. In addition, kickboxing cardio is also a specialty of the school.

I have been training in various Yoga techniques for over 8 years.

I have been certified with the American Council on Exercise.

About the lesson

First, I request my students to inform me of their goals, and any obstacles that they think are important.

Then together we work specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely objectives.

Over time progress is monitored and adjustments are made where needed.

I have worked with students from 6 years old to 70 years old, different nationalities, religions, etc.

There should be trust, that is the most important thing in the relationship. The trainer should know how to listen to their student and should not make false promises.

My youngest running student is six. Getting him to focus want to stay on the running track, in the beginning, was a real challenge. It has been a few months now and he is now able to complete 3.1miles/5k in just under an hour.

Working with him has taught me a lot and seeing him make the distance in such a short time is amazing. His parents were so proud of him when I gave them his report. That is one of those priceless moments.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should have a vision that they have in mind. Once the vision is there then they could communicate this to the teacher. Once the teacher understands the student's vision, then the could see how attainable it is based on the circumstance. I see training as a team effort.
