About Alexandra
Do you want to learn how to sing with consistancy and ease, in a fun-learning environment? Consider a voice lesson! I excel at catering to my students' needs with attention to detail, active listening, and a thorough understanding of vocal pedagogy. All ages and levels are welcome, and lessons will be customizable to your needs and goals. I believe that building a solid technique will allow you to sing any genre, and enrich your natural, healthy voice. Whether you're looking to brush up on your technique or just make some music, consider a lesson!
I have been studying voice since I was 13 years old. Singing was something that enriched my life and helped me come out my shell when I was younger. I've had wonderful teachers who truly impacted my life, and I want to impact yours! I am passionate about helping others and watching my student grow and acheive their goals. I believe that music education can grately benefit anyone.
I realized I enjoyed teaching after a Pedagogy course I took in my undergraduate studies a the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. We had to teach a student for a whole semester as part of that class. I enjoyed it so much that I knew this was something I wanted to pursue!
I hold a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee under the tutelage of Kathryn Wright, where I also received my Bachelor of Music degree. My training includes vocal pedagogy, dictation, phonetics, and language studies.

I've performed with Boston Conservatory Opera, OperaWorks, Odyssey Opera, the Franco-American Vocal Academy, Brevard Music Center, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
My credits include the role of Madame Herz in Der Schauspieldirektor, Louann in The Golden Lasso and partial roles as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Papegena and First Lady in Die Zauberflӧte, and Clorinda in La Cenerentola.

First, I ask about my students needs and goals. It is important to know if my student is a beginner or has prior vocal training. After that I will warm up my student and have them vocalize to find their range. If my student does have prior vocal experience then I will have them sing a piece from their repertoire for me.
The most important thing during the first lesson is finding out my student's range, their strengths, and their weaknesses. Then I will assign repertoire to my student so they can build on what we have learned about in our lessons!
During the pandemic I did not get to perform much. Sadly, my grandmother passed away in the summer of 2020. Before she passed, she asked me to sing When Irish Eyes Are Smiling at her funeral. As sad and hard as it was, I couldn't say no! I sang at her funeral and it was so amazing to share my gift with my family. It is times like that that remind me why I love what I do. It makes me excited to teach others how to share their gifts as well.
