About Michael
Hi and thank you for your interest in taking music lessons with me. My passion for teaching music is centered around championing my students creative aspirations. I am here to help you build your music making ability and reduce the frustration that can happen with learning an instrument for the first time with my comprehensive approach to learning that includes: learning songs/pieces, building better technique to make the physical part of playing the notes easier, and with age and level appropriate music theory to learn how music is created and put together.
I have been teaching music lessons for 10 years and have called teaching music in San Antonio home since 2014. I am currently taking new students for guitar and piano. If you would like to learn more please visit my website at (concealed information) or by email (concealed information)
I enjoy watching my students when the light bulb comes on and the concept being taught clicks with them. I love to see my students finish lessons with a smile and feel just a little more joy in their day. It's fun and rewarding to watch my students grow from not knowing anything about music into students that can play songs and in some cases write their own music too.

I begin by starting a dialogue with my new students to see what is their background and finding out what they want to achieve with lessons. Once we finish discussing all the background information, I begin with a song or a small fragment for complete beginners so that they can start playing music from the start. I also evaluate their technique and discuss ways to build on their technique.
