About John
I provide fun and education lessons to those students looking to enjoy playing music. It's important for my students to learn the proper techniques to play their instrument well. And, I take pride in really caring about the person too. My students enjoy their lessons with me, because they improve and they feel supported.
I love teaching, because it's wonderful to see how music enhances their lives. Many students take music because they are looking for a way to express their personalities in ways that will make the world a better place. I'm grateful to be a part of that. Music makes my life better, and I believe it's the same for my students.
I started teaching when I was at Rowan University. My clarinet teacher at the time recommended me to a student in the middle school in Glassboro. I accepted, and enjoyed it from the first lesson on.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ.
I am a certificed adjudicator for Solo and Ensemble woodwinds in Florida through the Florida Bandmasters Association.

I assess their level of proficiency. I also ask what their goals are. If they are coming to acheive a specific goal I want to make sure that I address that.
Elementary, middle school, and high school.
Find somebody who you feel comfortable with, and that has the skills to get you where you want to get. It's important that your teacher be skilled, and that your teacher cares about you as a person. Both are important.
I was very proud to see my bass clarinet student two years ago become first chair for the top high school all state band in the state of Florida. That was an extremely proud moment for me, because he had been studying with me for six years at the point.
