About McKaylee

I was gifted with being good at math and I accidentally got into helping a little girl with math in my parents class and when she finally got the answer and lit up I knew that I was meant to help people in need because I know how it is to struggle with nobody at home to help me.

I'm in college right now and I am currently taking math as one of my classes. I have tutored many kids in math from elementary school kids to even high school students. I work along side my peers in college and help my friends when struggling as well.

About the lesson

I like to see where the student is with the material and I like to get to know them and find out how they learn best before hopping into the work. Building a connection with my peer is helpful to them because they will feel more comfortable to tell me when they don't understand. It's also helpful to me because I can see in their face and by their actions that they don't comprehend and need more guidance.

I've worked with all students of all ages from elementary to college students.

I would look for someone you can relate to. Generally someone that is will to help you in every way possible. If you feel unsure at all about working with them it's not right for you. You should feel comfortable asking your tutor for help and it should even be fun and something you look forward to. Tutors can turn out to be really good friends and even life coaches for you. They can turn bad days into good ones just by sitting with you and studying because you can count on them to be there.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
You don't have to know exactly what questions to ask. Teachers can see when a child is struggling in their class. You can go to a teacher and tell them I need help and you can bring the paper to them and point and say I don't understand. They will help you out with knowing where you are struggling but asking you questions as well.
