About Lauren
As a post graduate from UW-Stout with a B.S. in Psychology and a concenntration in social work, I am pursuing a career that can help change the lives of youth! I hope to obtain my MSW in the next two years to work full time as a school social worker. I currently work full-time as a tutor and interventionist at Sunrise Park Middle school, and have done so over a year. I work with students from all backgrounds and academic levels every day. This encourages me to have patience, updated knowledge on school cirrculum, and how to effectively meet the student where they are at.
I enjoy getting to know the student as a person, and strive to support them in their academic path whole heartedly, versus only focusing on grades. It is a great adventure to see where stduents I worked with started to where they ended up! I aim to provide students with tools and skills that they can use indepednently, which helps them see their true talents and abiltiies, as well as boosts the confidence in themselves.
I have many creative ways to teach not only the material at hand, but study skills. essay writing tips, note taking ideas, research methods, and academic organizational skills that will support the student throughout their school day.
I hope that I get to meet you and your student soon, and cannot wait to start supporting them through their school career!
