About Karen

I have been tutoring both in person and online for over 30 years with great success! I have taught high school and college level math. I can tutor Calculus, Precalculus, Algebra, and Geometry. I have some students who I have tutored for several years through high school and then have come back to see me when they return from college.

I love making a difficult subject easy for students! I love hearing students say, “Now I get it!”

I always have loved helping people understand Math, even when I was a student myself.

I have a Bachelors degree as well as a Masters degree in Math. I have also taught and tutored for over 30 years.

About the lesson

I first like to find out where the student is at - talk about difficulties the student is having. We can then talk about what the student would like to get out of tutoring. Then we develop a plan and get started. Time to feel better about Math!

Perfect! Definitely recommend if you are struggling with any Math material. She uses Jamboards which changed how I take notes and do my homework on my iPad. She takes her time to ensure you understand the material and has helped me understand the why's on each issue that I have had. I'm a returning adult going back to school and so far I'm glad that I have met Karen.

I was struggling with AP Calculus AB and even though I was doing the assigned homework and going to get extra help from my teacher, the concepts were not clicking. Working with Mrs. Dawe changed everything. She was able to present the concepts in a way that finally made sense to me and let me connect the material. She truly wants her students to succeed and is excited when they grasp the material. There’s not a question I’ve had that she cannot answer fully and in a way that I can comprehend.
