About Kimberly

A true lover of education and math, I'm entering my 7th year of teaching and 14th year of tutoring. I'm extremely passionate about AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics, but I am very happy to help with any high school math course and get your child the results they deserve!

I started tutoring in National Honor Society during high school (in Chicago), and then went on to tutor student athletes during my undergrad at the University of Notre Dame, where I earned a degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Education and a supplementary major in Spanish (2013). Then I spent a year tutoring full time and earning my Master's in Effective Teaching in Boston (2013-2014). And now I've been teaching full time and tutoring part time in LA ever since. While here, I've taught Geometry, Integrated Math 2 Honors, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, AP Statistics, Calculus, and AP Calculus AB. I'm the head of the Math Department at my school, and I'm very passionate about about students excelling and gaining confidence in STEM. Not only do I help students grow in their motivation, but I will get them the content results that you want as well.

I've known that I wanted to teach since I got so much joy from tutoring my peers in high school. I remember feeling so fulfilled hearing my an upperclassmen from my volleyball team excitedly tell me how she aced her exam after I helped her study.

I am certified to teach in Indiana, Massachusetts and California. I have been tutoring for 14 years and teaching full-time for 7 years.

About the lesson

I usually like to use a student's classwork as the basis for our session, and then I supplement with other curriculum and examples as needed to get them targeted practice. But with some degree of remote learning behind us and possibly in front of us, I would be more than happy to bring the curriculum to your child these last few weeks before school starts. With the uncertainties of how schools will open, let's work through Chapter 1 so that your child is already steps ahead of their peers.

I have worked with students from 6th grade to 12th grade, private and public schools.
