About Destinee
I graduated in 2021 from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Molecular Environmental Biology with intentions of going to medical school. I have taken a wide variety of classes in Science, Math, History, Spanish and English to generally name a few. As I pursued my education I realized how hard it can be to study and retain information so I developed a color coded note taking system in which I passed along to my students as it developed. I understand every student learns differently so when I’m tutoring a student we figure out the best methods that fit each individual to reach higher scores and create a better understanding of their weaker study areas. Anything the student needs help with we can figure out together!
I started teaching as a tutor for students in Kinder through 12th at a company in Whittier, California for 4 years. I also worked for the Los Angeles Community College district as a Supplemental Instructor in Mathematics for College students for 2 years.
I have a Bachelors of Science in Molecular Environmental Biology, an Associate in Arts Degree in General Studies with a Natural Science Emphasis, and an Associate in Arts Degree in General Studies with a Social and Behavioral Science Emphasis.

New students usually bring homework or a topic they're struggling with in class and we will take notes on the subject together and apply it to the work brought. If the student doesn't bring anything I ask questions to figure out what they're having trouble with and look up questions we can work through together, again taking notes first and then applying them. Notes are great for reviewing before tests and finishing work at home independently so I stress them in our sessions.
I have worked with a wide variety of students ranging from kindergarten to college.
