About Sara

I am currently a sophmore at Purdue University and I have been tutoring math since junoir year in high school. I am a musican, but I like to tutor math on the side because I like to help people and it helps to keep my mind sharp. I commonly help students in classes like Algebra and Pre-Calculous, but I also give lessons on saxophone, piano, ukelele, and guitar.

I love what I do because it helps me keep my mind sharp, but my favorite part about what I do is seeing the end result. I frequently see students that I work with long-term gain a sense of confidence when they finally master the subject they used to struggle with the most. It especially makes me feel warm inside to help people improve their SAT scores because it helps the student get more scholarships and helps boost their resumes for college.

My friend in high school was struggling in Algebra, so I tutored them and they were successful. This helped me become a better student and I decided to continue tutoring.

I tutored math in high school and am now a college student.

About the lesson

First, I like to sit down and talk to my student to find out what their passions are. This helps me better understand them and how they learn. After that, we assess where they are academically and determine what their academic goals are.

Peers and students in lower grades

See one, teach one, do one.

After working with me, I highly recomend you tutor someone else to help you gain a better understanding of your material.

I also study music and I am very find of learning how to play instruments and going to concerts.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Academically speaking, where am I and where do I want to be? What am I willing to do to get there?
