About Amanda
I have a minor in education. I was fortunate to student teach at an intermediate school, observing the classroom and then teaching 6th grade students.
I am CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certified. I have experience working with college-aged students with their psychology and math courses. I was also a tutor for a learning center, where I primarily worked with students 4th-8th grade on their reading comprehension and math skills.

1) Set a comfortable and safe space for the tutee. Ask them questions about their interests and concerns when it comes to school.
2) Identify short-term goals (for the session, for the week) and long-term goals (for the current semester and future). Communicate this to the tutee and ensure they are aware of what needs to be done for their academic success.
3) Go through current concepts/knowledge. Identify gaps in knowledge that need to be addressed before moving onto the next concept.
4) Teach/explain concepts. Check for understanding.
