About Jessica

Hi! I'm excited to work with students that need assistance and want to advance their skills. As a student that typically used tutors and sees the need for assistance, I'm excited to provide this service.

My ultimate goal is to make sure you understand the material. My job is to help you perform best so tutoring is all about communication and making sure that I can serve you the best way possible.

Throughout high school and through various organizations I have mentored and tutored students in various topics and have enjoyed it. I've worked as a math tutor, college advisor and essay reviewer, and tutor for other topics.

I am a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a fully STEM academic scholarship. I graduated high school with an IB diploma and served in various leadership positions. I am currently a Psychology and Pre-Health Policy and Management double major. In high school I completed all levels through BC calculus and IB HL math.

About the lesson

When working with students, I like to see the teacher materials and any study guide or homework provided. It's helpful to see the teacher's notes to understand the way they have been teaching the material. From there I like to work with students on a specific homework assignment or study guide to see what concepts they do and don't understand.

I would advise students to know exactly where they need help. It's easiest as a tutor to help when you provide us with a specific topic or aspect you need assistance on. Providing materials ahead of time will aid the tutor in preparing for the session.

Jessica was very attentive and knowledgeable in everything I needed help with. She was able to break down and explain everything to me so clearly, and I left very satisfied with the session. She never made me feel dumb, and had an extremely inviting personality. She’s amazing and I’ll definitely be booking with her again.

Jessica is without a doubt the best tutor I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. Not only did she tutor me in biology and chemistry (which I received an A in both) but she taught me to be more comfortable in Academia. A couple months ago when I decided I wanted to start tutoring for some extra money she actually trained me! Jessica is patient, reliable, prompt, kind, considerate, and an amazing supporter. I have nothing but good words to say about her and that stems from having only good experiences to talk about. The impact she has on people is substantial, speaking for personal experience. 5/5 tutor and person!
