About Milton
I am a former 3rd grade teacher who specialized in early reading and math skills. Part of my role was designing tailored lessons to meet student needs and ensure their success no matter their grade level in addition to helping build stronger study habits.
I have extensive experience with EngageNY and the CommonCore math standards -- designing lessons to help students meet targeted learning goals with the understanding of how math skills build over the course of a student's education.
I have designed and built large and small group lessons for reading comprehension growth, using leveled texts to bridge students from existing knowledge to novel concepts.
I have completed specialized phonics training to help struggling readers with their decoding skills in order to assist with overall reading fluency. These skills are an essential foundation to any reading comprehension growth.
I am a passionate educator who would love to help further students reading and math skills, or close gaps that may exist in their education to this point. Contact me so we can tailor a plan and time to meet your student's needs.
I have 3 years of full-time classroom instruction and taught grades 1-12 and undergraduate students. I have been teaching or tutoring for over 10 years, both in person and online.

My standard rate is $75 per hour for in person, $60 an hour online — the higher in person rate is to account for any travel.
