About Asanya
I am able to tutor students of all ages and this summer I want to help students with college applications as I know how to navigate how to pick schools that will best help the student suceed as there is much to consider when applying to college, such as curriculum type, student to teacher ratio, school size, etc. As I applied to college a few years, I have a lot of knowledge into the college application system. Also since I help out at admissions at my own university, I have an idea of what colleges look for in potential students. I also will be able to help with SAT prep and regular tutoring of science, english and math for K-12 students.
I really enjoy seeing students have that "lightbulb" moment, in which a concept becomes clear to them. I have been a teaching assistant in high school, so I know stategies of how to help students best learn the material. And I overall like helping people understand hard topics. In terms of college applications, I am minoring in English, so I really like to read and critique college essays! I am planning on being a Biology TA in college next semster, so I have a very passionate background in STEM and in creating lesson plans to best help my students.
I worked as a teaching assistant in high school for an AP Calculus Class and I also worked with much younger kids (babies to preschoolers) at a daycare after school in highschool and last summer. I enjoy working with kids and helping them to understand and retain what they learn.
I am aa rising sophomore at Brandeis University. This summer I am available to help tutor students from K-12. I am also available to help and give tips on how to best prep for the SAT and I can also help with college applications, as I was once in those shoes not too long ago. I did very well on my SATs and I have many tips and tricks that can help raise your score! I can also help with scholarship applications as well and edit essays for college applications! In High School, I took many AP classes and got 4 &5s on most of them. As a STEM major in college, Science and Math are my strong suit; however, I am minoring in English, so I can in that area as well.

I will try to understand their strengths and weakness and make a lesson plan based off that to make sure they get the most out of their lesson.
I have worked with students ranging from kindergarden to high school students. I would say I can work with all groups well, but tend to work best with high school students! I also am able to assist students with their college applications and edit essays to help in that process.
