About Maggie

My business will help you and your child achieve their goals. I can help with computer science, particularly Java and C. I can also help with Math up to Calculus. I am also willing to proofread English essays or aid in the brainstorm and drafting process. I am a freshman at Santa Clara majoring in Computer Science and Engineering with a math minor and women and gender studies minor. I graduated from Xavier College Preparatory with 4.5 GPA and was captain of our swim team. My experience with kids comes from coaching swim lessons for the past 3 years over the summer to kids aging from 2 to 13. I also babysat kids in my neighborhood while I was growing up.

I enjoy being able to help kids using what I am good at. I chose the college Santa Clara because of its mission of using knowledge to help the community. Tutoring is a way for me to do that.

I started teaching swim lessons through the swim club that I grew up swimming at. I also often help my sister with her homework: editing essays, and most recently helping with her computer science class.

I graduated with a 4.5 GPA from Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, AZ. While in high school, I also got my Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degree from Rio Salado College through Dual Enrollment. Now I am a freshman in college at Santa Clara pursuing my degree in Computer Science and Engineering with a math minor and women and gender studies minor.

I took a range of AP courses in high school including AP Computer Science, AP Calculus, and AP English.

About the lesson

With the quarantine, a zoom video session or facetime would be the most beneficial. The student should send me the topic and any helpful information or papers before our session so that I can be prepared for the meeting and not waste their time catching up.

Through swim coaching, I have worked with kids of all ages. I have also taught boys and girls club children how to swim and coached the Special Olympics swim team.

Ask questions

A recent event that I enjoyed was the "last supper" that I spent with all my college friends before we all had to leave because of Coronavirus. We cooked a nice meal instead of eating from the cafeteria. It was a nice goodbye before the quarantine.
