About Jeffery

This online tutoring service serves both college and high school students. The service is offered by a former high school English, writing, history, and social studies teacher who went on to teach community college history courses and now serves as the dean of an online college. Dr. Wells holds a Doctor of Education in online education, and is the author of four books and is an expert in research, writing, APA, MLA, and Turabian. Dr. Wells is also an expert in learner-centered instruction, a method which helps empower the learner in a way that helps her/him retain the skills and knowledge gained. In addition, Dr. Wells has been trained in how to develop critical thinking and meta-cognition skills in learners by using content and curriculum.

The most enjoyable aspect of tutoring and teaching is seeing the students learn in a way that helps them develop as people. Knowledge is key in building character and creating global citizens. Passing along the tools for those things creates pride in both the teacher and the learner. Helping a struggling student overcome obstacles also contributes to empowerment and pride. There are no greater rewards than to witness that happen and know you were a part of it.

I am a 22 year veteran of the classroom, which includes both online and face-to-face learning. I have taught middle school, high school, technical college, and community college. I also have been an college administrator in charge of faculty, curriculum, faculty development, student success coaching, and tutoring for the last six years.

I hold a B.A. in History from the University of Georgia, cum laude; an M.A. in History from Georgia College & State University where I was the Dr. William Ivey Hair Outstanding Graduate Student in History in 2006; a Specialist in Education from the American College of Education; and a Doctor of Education from the American College of Education with a focus in online education.

I am the author of four books, as well as the owner of the blog Teach it Online!

About the lesson

Students or parents may contact me at my email address or by phone. We can do an initial consultation to assess needs and discuss pricing. Once an agreement has been reached, tutoring appointments online using Zoom, Skpe, email, instant messaging or phone may commence. Email interactions will also include dissiminating information and resources, collecting sample assignments, and completion of practice assignments for feedback.
