About Dorian

Journalism was my major in College. But not because I eagerly wanted to be a journalist. I have a passion for sharing information but I realized I was not very confident with my overall work because I didn't believe I had an excellent grasp of the English language. I had doubts.

The moment I expanded my vocabulary, took on public speaking classes and excersized what I knew and learnt, my confidence grew in every aspect of my life.

How you speak depicts very much how you are perceived. That means grammar, tone, choice of words, etc. I feel a mastery of the English language is a step forward to the mastery of your life.

What I enjoy mostly about teaching/tutoring is the end result. I love to watch as students develop overtime and become bold and confident.

I began teaching as a Sunday School teacher. Then as a prefect in high school, I frequently stepped in for absent teachers.

I have a bachelor's of Arts degree in journalism, and have volunteered as a teaching assistant at different levels.

About the lesson

Get to know what level the student is currently at, their rate of learning, and examining what their weaknesses and strengths are so we are able to focus on what needs to be worked on.

I've worked with high school students as well as young children from ages 6-12

This is all about English but Chemistry with a teacher is important. Regardless of ratings, I've found that having a tutor who doesn't understand what you need, is completely futile. Find a tutor whose personality you may want to emulate or that you feel comfortable being vulnerable with.

I played the role of camp counselor on many occasions. Ann event that stands out in my memory is when I coached a group of young children (6-12) to a debate championship in a matter of hours with having no prior knowledge of the subject. I felt proud as I watched them recall what I taught as well as what they shared among themselves from their own experiences

3. What do I find to be most interesting about the subject of anything.
