About Shruthi

Hi, I'm Shruthi and I'm currently a senior in high school. While in high school, I successfully managed my leadership positions in service-based clubs, such as National Honors Society and National Achievers Society, with a heavy workload and many extracurriculars. Managing a hectic schedule has helped me learn the values of time management, flexibility, and patience. These are core values that I attempt to mirror in my tutoring sessions, making each tutoring session all the more unique and beneficial.

Throughout high school, I have been a peer tutor and a teaching assistant at Kumon, a popular tutoring center. From these teaching experiences, I have learned that I love breaking down difficult concepts for students in simple, creative ways. It's extremely gratifying to know that a student might be a little bit more passionate about the subject matter because they understand it better.

I am a senior in high school with a strong passion for English and linguistics in general. I have scored well in my AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition classes.

About the lesson

I aim to make my sessions tailored to each student's individual needs. In order to do this, I like to take a few minutes before each class to get to know my students, so that I can truly understand what teaching approach would best benefit them.

I have worked with all kinds of students, from students in elementary to high school. I have also worked with children in kindergarten, teaching them how to read and count.
