About Brittany

Hello students! My name is Teacher Brittany. am an ESL teacher online and with the New York Yankees (yes, the ⚾️ team).

I work really well with children and teens. I give a lot of positive encouragement and make students feel safe. I love to help students apply the material to their own life so that they connect with what they're learning. I love to ask deep questions and get students thinking critically.

I approach education from a holistic perspective; I like to give students social, cultural and historical context behind what they're learning so they can understand the deeper meaning.

I am also an excellent writer, and have a sixth sense for grammar errors. So bring your papers, blog posts, and novels my way; in English or Spanish!

Having learned a second language as an adolescent, I am very conscious of the language development process. My preferred method of teaching relies less on repetition of someone else's ideas, and favors self-expression of ones own thoughts and feelings.

I invite you to book a class with me! I love helping my students work towards their goals!

I am very passionate about helping people step out of their comfort zones and expand their horizons. I love helping students find meaning in what they're learning.

I have tutored throughout high school and college, but my first teaching job was with the Yankees! I always wanted to be a teacher because I'm passionate about education, but I wanted to teach within an alternative sturcture to the public school system. The Yankees and online teaching was perfect for me!

I have two BA's from the University of South Florida, in Spanish and International Studies.

I currently teach English as a Second Language online, and am an English teacher for the New York Yankess during baseball season!

Me. Brittany makes the lessons fun because she teaches with real world experiences. Time with Ms. Brittany feels more like time with a good friend telling stories, but she makes you think and it’s easy to remember what has been learned.

A friend referred me to Ms. Brittany and hiring her was the best decision for my son Andy! His reading grade plummeted after schools closed. He just wasn't interested in reading and struggled with some of the bigger words. But Ms. Brittany started working with him and now he chooses to read for fun! She introduced him to books he found interesting and she really sparked his mind with her questions. I feel like Andy's a different person! So proud of him
