About Ginny

All-in-one English Tutoring provides a multitude of services to fit a multuitude of needs. It is truly an all-in-one resource. Some of the services I provide include early-level English language and grammar studies, creative writing studies at all age levels, high-school literature tutoring, college-level essay tutoring, AP English tutoring, English SAT prep, English as a Second Langauge tutoring, and much more. Let me use my expertise to help you improve your skills.

I am constantly driven by passion not only for the English language and English works, but also for the development of my students. Passing on high-level communication skills, a love for reading, and high quality writing ability is what I do best. Seeing my students grow and develop into talented individuals makes me so grateful to be able to do what I do. I hold a bachelor's degree in English from Salisbury University, and am on track to begin my master's program in English Literature. I have several creative works publsihed in various literary journals, and have held editing positions on local literary bodies as well.

I found that I loved my English assignments so much, I wanted to share my thoughts and passion, especially with students who I found were struggling and needed guidance.

I have a bachelor's degree in English, as well as experience tutoring privately as well as in the Writing Center of my college.

About the lesson

With new students, it's typical for me to begin by asking the student what their goals are. It is important to identify the desired results before we begin developing a pattern of study. I'll often ask the student to consider specific strengths and weaknesses, or even to provide examples of assignments they feel did not represent their best work. After goals have been established, I like to take a moment or two to get to know the student before lessons begin.

I have worked with students of all ages, but most commonly high school and college level students.

Be honest about your strengths, goals, and expectations. Most of the time, a good tutor will be willing to work with you in order to help you succeed, no matter the circumstances or limitations.

Recently, an old tutoring student of mine came to me with their own unsolicited thoughts and opinions about a piece of classic literature. It felt so special to me that they found a deeper meaning within the text all on their own, and that I made such an impact in their education that they wanted to share it with me.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Try and pinpoint specific problems you're having in and outside the classroom so they can be addressed in the tutoring session. Teachers can do their best to provide general advice and assistance, but problems that are not identified cannot be improved upon.
