About Ryan

As someone who massively benefitted from both a public high school education and a private university education at Princeton University, I'm beyond excited to be able to bring an overarching love for education and all of its areas to students. From middle to high school, I thought, more than anything, that I wanted to be an engineer and devoted my years to AP science and math classes with success at the state level in extracurriculars like Science Olympiad. Later in high school, I realized I loved, more than anything the ability to tell stories. It was this storytelling that propelled me to the national stage in speech and debate and eventually to Princeton University where I majored in Philosophy with what might be the most practical degree imaginable, a degree in Philosophy with minors in European Cultural Studies and Theater. At the end of the day I majored in reading, writing, and thinking -- something applicable to any essay, article, application, or assignment. I love not just teaching a single subject (though that is possible) but instead the overarching connections betweeen areas and concepts. After having served as a junior executive at a major Hollywood director's new production company for the last year (I told you, I love storytelling!) I'll be leaving shortly to pursue a financial tech startup that was just accepted into Y Combinator. Like I said, I love the links between things and can't wait to share that with you.

I loved the teachers I had and realized they helped me in way far beyond the classroom. They helped me as athletic coaches, coffee conversationalists, entrepreneurial mentors, and dream enablers. I wanted to do the same because I realized how lucky I got with the teachers I had!

Outside of school, immense experience in Hollywood, Silicon Valley, Marketing, and Hospitality

About the lesson

I work with the student and parent to figure out what the best approach will be (typically result-based, process-based, or mentor-based) and then create the best outline to move forward from there.

I can assist in subjects as small as preparing for a test to crafting a full college application to seeing students through, and connecting them to potential internships and more.
