About Elizabeth
I am a North Carolina certified teacher with a passion for working with students of all ages. During this time of COVID-19, I want to help families that need extra tutoring for their students currently trying to navigate through this new online learning space. My specialties are in English, Social Studies, History, and Fine Arts, but I have training in all subject matters and am open to teaching any and all students.
I was recently chosen as one of the Best Tutors on this website in 2020, which makes up less than 6% of the tutors on this website.
I am incredibly passionate about watching students achieve their goals. Helping a student grow and change is one of the most rewarding things a teacher can do!
I am a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in General Education, a concentration in Theatre, and a minor in Teacher Education. I have spent years as a tutor for elementary through high school-aged students. I also have a North Carolina Teaching License.

I like to first spend a little bit of time getting to know the student on a personal level, and then go through a series of questions I have curated to see where the student stands academically in the subject that they are coming to tutoring for. This gives me a well-rounded understanding not only of the academic level the student is on, but also some insight into their personality so I can begin to check in to their learning habits and make the tutoring experience as personalized and unique as possible.

Elizabeth was very communicative when it came to working with my child and made the teaching as personalized to my daughter as she could. I hired Elizabeth to help my 8-year-old daughter become stronger in reading and writing and Elizabeth was able to bring my daughter from struggling to read a Dr. Seuss book on her own to reading chapter books by herself. Highly recommend.
