I hold a brief consultation to discuss what each new student wants to gain from the tutoring experience.
Are you hoping to master English grammar? Are you trying to get a better understanding of American literature? Are you trying to revise an essay?
After that, I work with my student to create a plan for working together.

Kate helped me get a promotion - and to help my community. I work for the city government with the chance to help the neighborhood I grew up in. But I knew I needed to improve my writing. With Kate's tutoring, which she did online on whatever schedule I was able, my writing quickly improved. Now I'm supervising other people, many of them like me from this community, trying to turn it around. Kate turned my writing, and life, around.
