About Brooklyn

I am an independent tutor, which allows me to focus solely on one client at a time, giving my full attention, and the absolute best service I can provide. I have been recruited by a high school in the past to tutor in English, AP English, ACT English prep, essay writing, creative writing, poetry writing, and more. English as a subject can feel very obscure and tough to master; I should know! But I feel passionate about helping others to better grasp the subject, which is more achievable than you may think!

I began teaching while I was a student myself-in my early high school years I was taken notice of for my prowess in this particular subject, and for my ability to impactfully help my classmates learn. I continued teaching and expanded upon it from there, and have not stopped since then.

I am a World Languages major in university studying for my masters degree. I am a native English speaker and have spent my entire academic career focused on achieving a deeper understanding of this language, its grammer, its literature, and impactful writing in English. I have tutored high school, AP-level students alongside teachers and professors, in addition to speializing in tutoring English for ACT prep.

About the lesson

I assess where a client may struggle in their area of need, and I hear them out. The client's comfort and progress are my top priorities, and I take into account a client's thoughts and preferences when assessing the best course of study for them. Once I understand the client's needs, I begin with specialized lessons catered to the client's learning style. If I see that the client doesn't feel they are improving, I re-assess, and shift the course until the client is happy and satisfied with the style of their learning experience. I strive for stress-free, fun learning; after all, that's what learning should be!

I have worked with students from early elementary all the way up to advanced placement seniors in high school.

I would advise, above all else, selecting a teacher that is obviously passionate about helping you learn. A passionate teacher will have your best interest at heart, and advocate for your success.
