About Ellie

I am a graduate of Stanford University currently obtaining my MA at NYU. I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students on topics such as English as a second language, mathematics, writing, and social studies.

I have also been a counselor for students on their successful applications to top tier universities. I have also worked with college students and adults on their successful MBA applications and law school applications. Some of my students have attended Harvard Law School, Penn, and Haas School of Buisness at UC Berkeley.

I am going to school at NYU to get my MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness. I love working with students and people of all ages because it falls into line with what my career in psychology and counseling will look like after I graduate from NYU.

I began teaching in high school when my peers asked me for support with their studies. They then refered me to their siblings and friends and I decided to obtain high certifications and make myself a professional.

I have been tutoring students for over eight years and am trained in mental health and educational wellness through Stanford University.

About the lesson

Before beginning work with any student I offer a free phone consultation where we can think about the needs of the indvidual and what program of study would work best.

I have worked with adults and children of all ages. I have most extensively worked with high school students, specifically focusing on college admission.

I would recomend that you look for someone you click with not just academically but also emotionally. You want to be able to trust your tutor because learning and growth is based in mutual understanding.

One of my recent students was admitted to Penn and getting a text message from him in which he told me the news made me smile and feel so proud of his journey.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I would always ask yourself "what is it that I really want to learn from a tutor" and "what area do I actually need the most support in." Learning is a growth process, change won't happen overnight, but it can happen a lot more quickly if you know what you're looking for.
