About Natalie

My services stand out because of my knowledge on specific subject material, my expertise in patience and understanding, and my maturity and professionalism.

For more service information, please contact me by email.

I enjoy helping people in any way that I can. Because of the knowledge and experiences I have within certain subjects, I feel that I can help others best by teaching others what I had to teach myself throughout my school years. I believe in never giving up on what you're passionate about and my passion is doing what I can to help anyone and everyone -- academic or otherwise.

When I was younger, I was always what other students would call the Teacher's Pet. I helped other kids with their assignments, help the teacher explain things students were unable to grasp, and even did tutoring during class for students who were seriously struggling. Throughout my family relationships, I've always gone out of my way to help other people's children such as my cousins, parent's friend's children, so on and so forth. I always did this because I genuinely loved being able to help and it gives me a huge sense of accomplishment knowing I'm able to help in any aspect.

I think the teaching I did the most was stress-management and helping students through anxiety or emotions while balancing classwork at the same time.

While I am still a high school student myself, I am about to graduate early due to my work ethic and success within the subjects I have studied. I've taken multiple college-level courses already and I've ended each year on an A-B Honor Roll. My grades are something I pride myself in but what I feel better about is the strive I've always had to learn as much as I could and go over-the-top with assignments. My communication got me through a lot of difficult classes due to the untraditional school program I was in and I believe that my communication is something that will also help you in your success and in furthering your knowledge.

While this is my first time working on this platform, I have done tutoring in the past in a non-work environment (without pay). I've already mentioned why I enjoy helping students and I feel that my process is a huge part of my success. I always like to know the specific material the student needs help with beforehand. If I know I cannot help them with that subject, or that it's not something I'm particularly good with, I always tell them upfront. That way students are not paying for something they won't get and no one involved is wasting their time nor their money. After helping with specific assignments or subject material, I always check for clarity. If a student is still confused about something, I spend additional time doing all I can to ensure they grasp the material fully to certify their success later on without my help.

I've worked with all types of students ranging from age, ethnicity, and even those with a language barrier. I would definitely say I specialize in helping elementary-aged children but I'm good with teenagers who have the same level of openness to learning that I do.

Considering my broad range of "areas of expertise" I have, I'm not entirely sure how to answer this question. Part of me wants to say always go with your gut. If you feel someone could help you more than another person, go with your instinct. But also consider prices, quality, and personality, as well. If you get a teacher who knows the material but isn't patient with you at all, you'll only get stressed out and irritated and while you may get those assignments done, you might not understand it in the future. Make sure to check out all of the small details before hiring someone and if you can find a way to get it for free, go with that!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Due to the school program I was in due to my disability growing up, I had to learn how to communicate effectively very early on. Most of my teachers had no patience or compassion so I had to know exactly what I needed in order to get it. Before talking to a teacher about your needs or struggles, try to consider the following questions:

1. What exactly am I not understanding? What could help me understand?
2. Have I read all of the material and utilized all of my resources?
3. Do I really need help or am I just not trying? (It's usually always the first case but it's important to analyze this before asking)
4. Why am I not understanding ___?
5. What do I need in order to understand ___?

TIP: Prepare a list of questions YOU have for the teacher. Make a list of the things that need to get completed that way it all gets done more efficiently and effectively. Know your struggles and your needs that way you can communicate them thoroughly. If someone doesn't understand or know what you need, they cannot help you.

Like I've mentioned previously in other questions, I do not have any professional experiences behind me involving rates or income in any way. Due to this, and to ensure the quality of my work, I am starting all pricing at $25/hr. Negotiation is available depending on the situation. For example, if a student has a minimal amount of work and we barely spend any time together or for extended lengths of time, I'm willing to lower the pricing in that situation. I'm also willing to work out something cheaper if finances are an issue (because I've been there and I understand).
