About Sara

I am able to teach students new concepts while respecting the state standards for what they should be learning that year. My strongest subjects are in Math (K-8), Reading and Writing (Grades K-Master's Program), and Proofreading papers, such as reaction papers, thesis papers, reports, and personal statements. I am also able to tutor concepts that were previously taught to the students by their primary teachers in cases where the students did not understand the concepts. I make those concepts easy to learn and understandable.

I love learning and I love helping others. That is why I became a teacher. I know that I am fulfilling my calling every time a student says, "Oh! Now, I get it!" Those simple words make my day to educate others.

I have always loved learning and then I learned that I also enjoyed teaching others what I learned. I tutored my friends while I was growing up and started working as a tutor in college. I continued advancing my studies and continued helping others advance, too. In the end, I feel I was always meant to be a teacher. It is what makes me happy.

I am currently a licensed K-6 teacher in New Jersey. I have taught for 4 years and have made my material adaptable to the majority of my scholars. I have a Master's degree and am familiar with child brain development in accordance to age.

About the lesson

In working with a new student, I start with an icebreaker to make the student feel comfortable and I assess the student's skills. In math, I assess with a topic that he should have learned in class and continue advancing the classes from where I am confident the student has mastered the material. In writing, I provide a simple essay topic, depending on the grade level, and check for items, such as grammar, spelling, sentence context, writing cohesion and more. I modify the sessions to each student.

I have worked with students of all ages, all grade levels, all backgrounds, and of different cognitive abilities.

Make sure you hire someone who will help you grow academically and give you confidence. This is not a job for greedy people. It is a job based only on wanting to help others advance and thinking about their difficulties before your own.

I go through these events every day. Not only do I help my students with their academics, but I help them overcome and behavior difficulties that may stand in the way of them learning a topic. I help them overcome and cognitive ability to help them learn. If there is a language barrier, I will teach them in Spanish to help them learn. I will do all I can to reach that child and I do this every day.
