About Kylie

I am a very patient person. Where I understand if the way students are being taught is not working for them. I then find where the struggle is coming from and work to find a way that the student can succeed.

I enjoy interacting and teaching children. I strive to see the light bulb go off in a students head where they finally understand and can grasp a concept. I work to find this success for any student no matter where they are.

I started teaching in my church, all different age levels. Then I started teaching in a school setting 3 years ago.

I have been teaching children in all different ages and grades for 6 years. I am a college student as well in Elementary Education. Therefore, I know where teachers can fall short and not find solutions to students struggles. I also know how it can feel as a student not understanding and needing to be taught a subject differently so i can thrive.

About the lesson

I begin with asking them personally how they learn best. Then I focus in on where they are struggling and find the reason why. After that I base what they told me about how they learn best and find solutions to help them with where they are struggling. I implement these solutions and find which one is working best and which ones are not.

I have worked with all ages and all needs. I am a person who has experience in students with special needs. My endorsement i am working towards is special education.

Look for someone that is willing to find a way best to teach you. Not provide another way they prefer to teach and force you to try and learn it their way.

I worked with a High-School student who is really struggling with the online system set in place. She fell behind and stopped turning in assignments. This was so frustrating for the parents but I understood. I could not imagine being in High-School and trying to learn calculus online. We sat down and made a list of all assignments that were late and she could still turn in, as well as the assignments coming up that week that needed to be done. Then we labeled each one with the rank of importance. Where the assignments within the next three days that were due, needed to be done first. Then we went to the assignments that were late and needed to be done. By the end of the week, she finished 45 assignments with my help. She studied and got a B+ on her geometry exam and she was so proud and thankful and couldnt wait to share that moment with me. I am all about no judgement towards a person and their learning style. I thrive to just work with a student and find their best way of learning so they can feel good about themselves.
