About Erin
The Learner's Garden (originally Taman Siswa, as it was founded in Bali) is a child centered program offering a holistic homeschool program as well as individual tutoring and mentoring. I spent a year working in the Green School Bali and 1.5 years mentoring with one of their top teachers in homeschool group setting.
The goal of the Learner's Garden is to engage and affirm children, by speaking the language of childhood. We are committed to bringing joy and wonderment into our classrooms, taking the stress out of teaching any topic. We focus on personal connection and care of the individual and their personal learning style, interests and strengths.
I have been teaching for 9 years in Bali and working with children for the past 15. I have my bachelor's degree from California State University Monterey Bay and Master's Degree from Endicott College.
I have been working with children since I was in high school and became a teacher directly out of college.

I prefer to make a home visit in order to meet the child in a comfortable space. My first session will generally be about getting to know you, rather than diving directly into work. I like to get to know the students interests, personality, hobbies, family life, and educational goals or hurdels.
I have worked with a wide variety of students, ranging from ESL learners in a traditional school setting, to expat students in an international schoo, international homeschool students, students who have been kicked out of schools in search of mentoring and students who have developed a fear and dislike of schools.
