About Antonia

I believe that all students have the ability to grow into successful contributors to society. Students create their own path; however, they need some guidance to get through the challenges. Experienced adults including parents, teachers and other professionals should work as a team to provide the best learning experience for the student.

I enjoy finding new ways in which students learn. Every student is different and benefit from various ways of learning new material. This helps me, as a school psychologist, extend the new techniques and strategies to other students who are experiencing challenges.

I am currently in a school psychology program and have always enjoyed the writing and research that comes with it. I have worked in a school for 3 years.

I am currently work at an elementary school as a school psychologist. I collaborate daily with general education and special education teachers. I have been a tutor during my undergraduate years helping students write and find the best way to conduct research. I also work with elementary students everyday to promote social and emotional learning. I have previously worked in a middle school as a paraprofessional in a reading/writing class.

About the lesson

I like to get to know the students before coming up with a plan. What kind of learner is the student? Are they visual or auditory learners? What are their studying habits? Do they have their materials organized? What are their interests and dislikes? Once I understand the student a bit more, we come up with an end goal and the steps we must take to get there. I am very patient and will overcome any challenges that come my way!

I currently work with elementary students (K-4). These students are typically performing in the general classroom and many students with extra support and services. Some students with extra support have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, depression disorders, and many more. I also have worked with students earning their Bachelor's degree.

Find a teacher who is patient and understanding. Every student has a different style of learning and it may take some time to discover the best way to teach.
