About Akio

I want to help improve and motivate kids/teens with their English (Writing, Reading and Speech). Neither of my parents speak English with confidence which causes them to lose oportunities in both their occupational and social life. I want to give youngsters the opportunity to have more opportunities in all aspects (Social, Occupational and Academical). I am Bilingual (Spanish and English), I have a 3.71 GPA all year round, and I volunteer in my school's English and Hispanic/Latino Honors Society.

I started by "teaching" my parents and helping them improve their English. I fell in love with the fact of teaching because of the positive impact it had on my family and friends. Seeing the boost of confidence in their eyes truly inspired me.

I am a Senior in high school and I have many different experiences with working as a tutor, assistant teacher and babysitter.

About the lesson

I will be contacted by the Guardian of my client (or from my client) and I will find the best way and time that is beneficial for them and myself.

Once a meeting is set up, we will talk about what lessons will be taught, the level they are at, and a get-to-know-you "game".

Once introductions are finished, we will talk about payment. If my client or their guardian cannot pay that amount or in time, we will work something out. Money should never stop you or your child from learning and gaining opportunities.

I have worked with different ages (6-15), different back grounds and different abilities.

If you don't feel as though you are not gaining something from this, then change things up. You are looking for a tutor/teacher because you want to improve. Don't let little inconviniences stop you from improving.

I recently went to a national park to see a local band playing the "greatest hits from the 50's, 60's and 70's". I was able to hang out with family and listen to my favorite band (The Beatles).
