About Jackson

I am excited to work with students on breaking through the barriers keeping them from moving their ideas from their brains to the page. My experiences with previous clients have shown me, without fail, that developing the ability to write elegantly, truthfully, and insightfully is only a matter of having a helping hand to aid them in cultivating the strategies, techniques, and skills to do so.

I am a graduate student at George Washington University, and graduated from NYU in 2021 with a degree in biology, and minors in chemistry and Spanish (and am consequently deeply familiar with application processes and essay writing strategies). I became fluent in Spanish during my undergraduate career, and cultivated experience in language education, as well as Spanish and English literature study. I attended high school at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, where I excelled in AP Literature, and was the Copy Editor of the Chronicle newspaper.

I am well-versed in and have written about most traditionally-taught high school American and British classic literature, as well as commonly-taught texts from the twentieth century.

About the lesson

From the moment I begin working with a new student, I strive to help them find their voice. I get to know them, learn about their interests and goals, and how they want to pursue them. I ask about what they typically find difficult about the tasks they are approaching so that I can address their specific concerns as we improve their skills, whether they are completing assignments for AP Literature/Language, college or graduate-level papers, or application essays for higher education. In learning more about each student's objectives and needs, I am not only able to help with an individual assignment, but, over repeated sessions, help to craft an individualized learning plan which allows students to become comfortable with expressing any of their thoughts in written form, in any context where they may need to do so.
