About Autumn
•Took honors / AP language Arts and English classes throughout high school.
• I scored a 35 on the English section of the ACT.
• Attended the University of Chicago and took many writing-based classes. I am well-rounded in writing across various domains including: general papers, literature reviews, research papers, history papers, and college/professional school essays.
• I am skilled in editing papers and providing suggestions. I have a strong belief that a strong college/professional school essay can help students get into some of their top choice school.
I love working with students! I aspire to instill in students the confidence to not only approach obstacles in learning, but also to overcome them. I love seeing the growth and development of students as their confidence and skill set grows.
I have always had a passion for education and teaching. School does not come easily to everyone and in my high school years, I struggled with certain courses. Through this struggle, I learned the importance of asking for help rather than shying away from it. I strive to do everything in my power to make the educational journeys of students less complicated and frustrating than mine was at times. A strong foundation and desire to learn is something I hope to instill in all of my students.
• BA in Biological Sciences with a Specialization in Endocrinology and a Minor in Health and Society from the University of Chicago.
• I have conducted virtual tutoring sessions for approximately 15 hours a week for the past year during the pandemic.
