About Arjun

I am a senior at the Bronx High School of Science, where I've taken multiple high-level English classes, notably retaining a perfect average in AP English Language, as well as AP English Literature. I scored a 99% on the statewide Regents English exam, and 36 and 35 on the ACT reading and writing sections respectively. I have also completed an essay writing course from Johns Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth program.

Throughout the college admissions process, I became adept at writing essays for admission. I was accepted to the University of Chicago, notorious for its unorthodox and intellectually challenging essay prompts.

I am available to tutor middle or high school students in reading comprehension/writing to supplement schoolwork or prepare for standardized exams. I am also willing to review, edit and write college or academic essays for clients.

My facility with language has helped me overcome barriers, excel academically, and advocate for myself in all settings. I'm passionate about offering students the same opportunities as I was, so that they can become confident writers and test takers. Rather than applying a standardized curriculum, I create custom lesson plans for each of my students, to help them reach academic excellence.

I am a member of my school's National Honors Society, where I tutor high school students of all ages on a regular basis. Additionally, I have served as Captain and Novice Captain of my school's Congressional Debate team for 3 years. Through these positions, I lead teach biweekly lessons to a team of over 50 competitors. I also run a private debate tutoring business.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored and highly individualized – after assessing the student's needs, I create a bespoke curriculum to follow over several lessons. This may include writing excercises/drills or sample testing passages to complete in timed settings, depending on my initial evaluation. All work will be graded with thorough feedback and suggested next steps.
