About Nicholas
I'm excited to offer a slightly less traditional, hands on approach to music lessons specializing in drums and percussion. This course is not about sheet music, but more about getting you ready to play in bands and/ or to improve your abilities on stage.
Over 20 years of drumming live and in session for bands of all genres allows me to offer specialty lessons for rock, metal, punk rock, country, hip- hop, & more.
I also offer direction with most traditional percussion instruments as well as digital beat making and programming.
If you are looking for a more grassroots approach I offer lessons on washboard, spoons, and rhythm bones as well.

For years now I have participated in teaching clinics at music festivals all over the U.S. and Canada. I enjoy seeing people smile while learning a new instrument and I am inspired by those breakthrough moments when it all finally a clicks for someone.
Internationally touring musician and band leader. Jug band hall of fame inductee. 20 years on the click track. Remaining passionate and working on music no matter the circumstances.

Break the ice and get to know the students ability. I usually watch them and listen to see why level they are comprehending the instrument and I develop a personalized plan from there. Beginner drummers will start with counting exercises and more experienced students will start with technical aspects and fills.
