About Jordan

I have a Bachelors degree in drawing (BFA) with a minor in painting. I've been tutoring for years, and I am currently working on attaining my teaching certification so I can work in a public school classroom! During the pandemic it's important for our kids to have hobbies and stay ahead; and I offer a fun and professional lesson environment that caters to many art styles and ages!

I have always had a passion for learning, I enjoyed school and loved doing well. I found joy in English and art, and was heavily inspired by the teachers that could change a student's understanding of a subject! The teachers with the most patience and those with the ability to listen influenced me to be that person for others.

A BFA in drawing and a partial certification, will be completed in June.

About the lesson

I like to see previous work, and talk about what they're struggling with. I spend a few minutes getting to know them while assessing what content I need to focus on during the lesson(s). I would discuss goals and upcoming assignments and tests, my goal is their success!

All ages, including infant and toddler. My ideal classroom would be in a junior high or high school setting but I am very good with early childhood education. I have worked with profoundly disabled students and believe in the magic of art therapy.

Look for someone who is passionate as well as qualified, otherwise you'd be better off reading a textbook.

I made croissants from scratch, a feat that took me almost an entire 24 hours of beating the dough, turning it, chilling it, and letting it rise. I know that baking wouldn't usually qualify as an "event" but considering the recent pandemic...Anway, the joy came when they were finished and it became clear that all the effort and worry was worth it for the finished product. To me teaching is the same, and I get joy from it in the same way!
