About Lisa

Hello! I am a teacher and dance instructor. I work with girls and women from ages 5 and up on ballet and modern dance technique and liturgical dance. I also teach students how to choreograph their own dances. I have over 30 years of experience with ballet, modern, and African dance. I am in the process of develping an online dance school to continue instruction during the global pandemic. I am a certified Liturgical Dance instructor and also a certified Praise Dance Fitness Instructor.

I enjoy the positive energy that dance gives! It can be a healing tool, just like exercise, because it is exercise. It is great for the body, mind, and soul. Through the beautiful art form of dance, I enjoy helping girls and women build confidence in themselves and their abilities!

I started teaching dance at my church 20 years ago, and I continue today!

I have a K-12 teaching certificate from the state of North Carolina. I am a Praise dance fitness leader. I also am a certified Liturgical Dance Instructor. I have been trained in ballet, modern, and contemporary/lyrical dance.

About the lesson

I like to have an initial phone conversation to ask what their specific goals are. We can agree on class times and what to expect during class. When we meet in person, we discuss waivers so that each particiant is aware and capable of the physical demands that are expected.

I work wih girls and women ages 5 and up!

Make sure that it is a good fit for you! There are alot of wonderful dance teachers out there and each is unique with there own style and flair. I like to not only teach dance, but help boost confidence that you can carry throughout your life.

I remember one of my students (she is 24) who was very shy and scared to dance in front of people. I was actually the one who encourgaed her to start dance classes. She did not have any dance experience prior to starting with me. We worked on some group dances, but the greatest joy I had was seeing her confidence soar as she danced a solo in front of an audience!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should ask themselves what they really want to achieve. What goal do I have in mind? How can this dance teacher help me achieve my goals?
