About Kristen

An experienced dancer and instructor with a focus on classical ballet / pointe technique, tap, jazz, injury prevention, and creative vision.

Trained and taught dancers of all ages and levels in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and more.

As an educator, I believe in the artistic potential of every student and emphasize creative expression as well as technicality.

My instruction includes demonstrations of movements, explanations of movements and a breakdown on how to execute them successfully. My creative work centers on themes of the human experience and influenced bmy studies in American Sign Language, Tai Chi, and The Alexander Technique.

I love to dance and moreover, I LOVE to teach dance!

Its my escape from reality when that music starts and I feel the music running through my veins.

I got started teaching dance because it’s my life it has filled me more than any job that I’ve ever had.

About the lesson

Basically when we first meet we do a meet and greet and I get a little background of not only some dance experience but of their health and what they would like to accomplish from my instruction.

I then give them a few basics if they are a beginner or see where they’re at if they had some previous dance instruction. I have them set some goals and objections of how to accomplish their goals.

I work with students from beginner to advanced.

I taught a class of students who have never had formal ballet training. My director substituted for me and was so impressed and proud of the students. Not only did the students feel good about themselves but they pursue the art and made me so proud of this in as an instructor.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should ask their instructor if they have enough experience and also if they are aware of injury prevention.
