About Sarah
As a recent graduate of Nazareth College with a Bachelor's Degree in Dance Studies, I am excited to begin working as an educator!
I've been teaching dance for 8 years, ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, and creative movement, to students of all ages. Some of the studios I've taught for are Finger Lakes Ballet Academy, Dance Emporium, St. Peter's Academy of the Arts, as well as choreographing for students at Honeoye High School during their school musical.
I was also lucky enough to have multiple opportunities to choreograph on my fellow students at Nazareth College, having my work shown at three Spring Dance Concerts as well as being chosen to present work at the ACDA (American College Dance Association) Conference in 2019.
I began as a teaching assistant at my local dance studio, assisting with classes in ballet and tap for students ages 5-12. From there I worked as a substitute teacher at various studios before working with Dance Emporium teaching ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, stretch/strength, leaps/turns, and competition.
I worked as a camp counselor for three years, spending the day with campers ages 6-12 and working with them on various activities.
I also work as a nanny for a toddler with extra developmental needs.

I like to get to know my students on a personal level as well as on an artistic level. My initial process involves gauging where they are in their training, discussing with them what they want to gain from their time with me, and finding goals that we can work towards together.
I've worked with students at many different levels of technique and ability. Most of my experience has been with dancers just beginning their training, but I've also been able to work with dancers who are looking to continue with the high levels of training that they have already been given.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I would like students to be ready to discuss where they feel they are in their training and what they hope to be able to accomplish.
