About Dominic
With a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, I bring over five years of experience teaching and tutoring physics at both the high school and college levels. At the high school level, I specialize in AP Physics, helping students navigate one of the most challenging science courses. For college students, I have taught courses such as PHY 0011 (General Physics I with Lab), which covers classical mechanics, fluids, and thermodynamics, and PHY 0012 (General Physics II with Lab), focused on electricity, magnetism, waves, and light. Additionally, I have experience in teaching PHY 0013 (Introduction to Modern Physics), which explores topics like special relativity and quantum mechanics.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes hands-on learning and real-world applications, ensuring that students not only grasp theoretical concepts but also see how physics shapes the world around them. For AP Physics students, I focus on breaking down the complexities of the subject into manageable pieces, using examples from everyday life to make challenging topics more relatable.
As a patient and adaptive tutor, I meet students where they are, carefully identifying and addressing knowledge gaps.
